After the bombshell of a leaked fake psychiatric exam exploded on his “botox-leaking” face, Villar now challenges Noynoy to subject himself to a psychiatric test to prove to the electorate his “fitness to serve as president.”

Like Mayweather (the Pretty Boy), Villar (the Pogi Boy) – who doesn’t seem to know that election rules exist and he cannot change them to salvage his sagging numbers (I don’t know if botox also works here) – is demanding for the equivalent of a Pacman blood test, a psychiatric test to be done on Noynoy.  The Pacman should advise Manny (the Pogi Boy) that he should not demand for the tests if there are existing rules covering the election – like his dreamed about bout with Mayweather.

Although Villar is not as glib as Pretty Boy, he is actually exhibiting the same fear of losing that Floyd Jr. has from a fight with Pacquaio.  Like Mayweather, Villar will lose face (albeit botox filled) if he gives even a hint that he no longer wants to face Aquino in the elections as he will get a beating.

Villar should heed the advice of his spokesman Adel Tamano for all “NP candidates and supporters to stop the dirty tricks and campaign based on platform, background and track record.” If Villar doesn’t follow his advice, we ask Tamano to tell Villar on Vicky Bello and for the “doktora” to revoke the volume discounts of Manny Villar for the facial treatment he booked in advance, just like that of his TV ad placements.

Oh, by the way!  Gilbert Remulla should not worry that ABS-CBN might divulge that he’s the culprit in the leaking out of the fake psychiatric test results.  People who are still with the network are too professional to do that to him.  Remulla should worry about people in the NP slate who say “ouch” at the mention of words that start with the letters “p,s and y”. “Indi bala, Senadora?”  (N.B. For Loren of Antique, this means “Hindi ba, Senadora?”.)

The usual cheer leaders hailed GMA for her benevolence and statesmanship. Other observers believe that this is her “George W. Bush” to Teodoro’s “McCain campaign”. Those who believe though that Arroyo will not do anything that will not benefit herself above others see this as the unravelling of GMA’s true intentions — that to keep herself in power.

In an attempt to conceal the slip, Presidential political adviser Gabby Claudio was quick to clarify that GMA is not leaving the party and will be in full support of Teodoro’s candidacy. What they cannot hide is the fact that all these are deliberate and designed to bring their principal back to power. Teodoro’s numbers are not improving and Arroyo cannot rely on anybody but herself to ensure that she will still be on the helm come 2010. She unburdened herself of the chairmanship of her party to enjoy the liberty to support and forge alliances with Lakas-Kampi local candidates and candidates of other parties in forming her virtual coalition. This coalition is not for her vice presidential bid but rather for the more strategic and powerful speakership. With six months left of her mis-governance, Arroyo has a strong enough whip to mobilize what is left of her regime’s machinery, stronger even than what an outsider like Teodoro can muster even if he sits as party chairman.

Disappointed with the failures of her Speakers of the House, De Venecia and Nograles, to deliver the Cha-cha train during her reign, GMA will take it upon herself, as chief legislator, to railroad the revisions on the Charter. She will sit in the legislature to provide leadership and quality over the Arroyo numbers in Congress. Arroyo can still become prime minister, but it needs her brand of Arroyo — not Mikey, Dato, Iggy or the balut vendor’s hero Marilou — to make this happen.

Teodoro does not complete the equation and Ebdane will remain insignificant. Noynoy will never be in speaking terms with her and Chiz will keep on speaking just with himself. This leaves Manny Villar as the logical accomplice. With Villar at risk of placing second, he’ll need a formidable partner in crime to salvage the returns of his heavy spending. Notice that in spite of having the most talkative young boys (Remulla, Cayetano, and Tamano) in his camp, you hardly hear a comment from the Villar camp on the behaviour of Arroyo. It is plausible that even at the risk of becoming a ceremonial president mid-way through his term, Villar will bite and forge (must have already forged) an alliance with GMA’s “coalition”. He currently holds the second best hand and like in a game of poker he may turn out as the biggest loser if he does not play this correctly. This deal with the queen is the trump card he needs. GMA and NPC will deliver Loren Legarda in an arranged marriage to Villar. GMA shall be their bet for the speakership. The judiciary is an Arroyo appointee. And the military, well, they will still have the Emperor. This thus becomes the biggest defection in Philippine political history.

Dati nang tinuligsa si Legarda tungkol sa pribadong Foundation (Luntiang Pilipinas) na kanyang itinatag para makapaglipat ng pondo mula sa kaniyang P200 million pork barrel, (gayong pwede namang sa regular na programa ng DENR ito idaan).

Maaalala ring sa isang malaking miting ng mga environmentalist ay pinansin ng isang estudyante ang kanyang Chevy Suburban na iniwang tumatakbo ang makina at aircon habang siya’y nagtatalumpati sa loob.  Utos daw para manatiling malamig ang sasakyan at hindi siya maperwisyo pagsakay muli. Ang sabi tuloy ng estudyante sa open forum “ma’m, nakakadagdag po kayo sa Global Warming”.

Ang dalawang bagay na iyan ay ilan sa patunay na si Legarda ay environmentalist lamang sa salita at hindi sa pang-araw-araw na buhay. Kaya nga marami sa mga totoong tagapagtanggol ng kalikasan ay hindi siya nakakasundo.

Ang kanyang asal sa huling iskandalo ni Villar ang panibagong patunay sa matagal nang hinihinala ng marami- na si Loren ay peke at ang ipinangangalandakan na siya ang tanging champion para sa kalikasan, ay isang malaking production number lamang! (Maraming higit na bayani kaysa sa kanya pagdating sa larangang ito.)

Karaniwan sa mga tunay na makakalikasan ay maninindigan para sa proteksiyon ng ating mga pataniman, lalong lalo na ang mga palayan. Dahil mahalaga sa atin ang bigas. Bahagi ng buhay ng halos lahat ng Pilipino ang kanin. Sa mga makakalikasan, karaniwang itinataguyod ang mga pamamaraang natural, organiko, at abot-kaya ng ating mga kababayang magsasaka, (laban sa nakapipinsalang mga kemikal).

Subali’t ang hindi kailanman mapapatawad ng siyentipiko man o magbubukid, ay ang pagsesemento ng palayan para gawing subdivision! Bakit? Binabawasan nito sa isang iglap ang ating kakayahan na umani ng sariling kakainin. Ang katumbas na bigas mula sa palay na hindi na aanihin sa lupang tinabunan ay aangkatin mula sa ibang bayan.

Ang mga palayan ay kayamanan ng bayan. Ito ang tinatawag na alluvial plains, mga kapatagang milyung taon na nilikha ng dahan-dahang pagbaba ng mayamang top soil mula sa kagubatan na dati’y laganap sa ating mga kabundukan. Ganyan ang Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, ang mga kapatagan sa paanan ng Mt. Apo, at mga kapatagan sa Iloilo. Kapag ito’y sinira, milyung taon tayong maghihintay. Ang manira ng palayan ay kasalanan sa taong bayan!

Si Manny Villar, ang nangangakong mag-aahon sa atin sa kahirapan, ay pasimuno sa malawakang conversion ng mga lupang sakahan.  Bibilin ng mura mula sa magsasaka, tatambakan, sisimentuhan, at ipagbibili bilang isang Villar subdivision sa may kaya. Ang binulgar ni Frank Drilon na Savannah Subdivision ng Camella Homes sa Pavia, Iloilo, dati’y 13 ektaryang palayan (katumbas ng 4,000 kaban ng palay bawa’t taon) na ipina-convert ng dalawang opisyal ng Camella Homes, ay isang halimbawa. Marami pang ganito sa buong Pilipinas. Krimen ang business model na ito. Patuloy ang pag-ahon ni Villar sa kayamanan. Patuloy na magugutom ang bayan!

Sa kabila nito, ano ang sinasabi ni Loren?

Wala! Wala! Wala! Lunok na lang ng laway, at humanap ng isyu na ibabato sa mga kalaban. Baka sakaling walang makapansin.

Kung tunay si Loren, dapat ay iniwanan na ang katambal at binatikos ng husto sa isyung ito. Ito ang tamang panahon para manindigan. E, tahimik. Ito lang ang pwedeng isipin. Handa kang magbulag-bulagan, iwaksi ang iyong paninindigan, makamit lamang ang makasarili mong ambisyon.

“Walang nangyaring ganyan,” ani Cong. Erin Tañada, tagapagsalita ng Liberal Party. ‘Yan ay kathang-isip lamang na naglalayong sirain si Mar dahil lumalayo na siya sa surveys kung ihahambing kay Loren Legarda.”

Si Garci ang opisyal ng COMELEC na nabistong nandadaya para kay GMA noong 2004. Hindi maisip ng marami na ang isang taong marangal tulad ni Mar Roxas ay makikipagsabwatan para lamang dagdagan ang boto bagama’t panalo na ito.

Maging mapanuri. Ganito kung paano:

1. Hindi tinukoy sa balita kung sino sa LP ang pinagmulan ng tsismis. Sadyang ganoon para walang paraan na ito ay mapatunayan. Mabuti pa nga kung ito ay tsismis na nakarating sa reporter pero hindi. Maliwanag pa sa araw. ITO AY IMBENTO !

2. Sino ang may motibo para gawin ito? Ang lahat ng pinakahuling surveys, kabilang ang mga respetadong Social Weather Stations at Pulse Asia, ay nagpapatunay sa pagbulusok ni Mar Roxas at paglawak sa 21 points ng kanyang lamang kay Loren Legarda. Maliwanag pa sa araw. GAWA ITO NG DESPERADO !

3. Ang nagdala ng istorya ay pawang mga tabloid na pag-aari o kontrolado ni Manny Villar. Madali yang patunayan. Ipagtanong lamang. Sa iba’t-ibang tabloid, hindi man lang nag-iiba ang titulo at teksto ng balita. Samakatuwid, ito ay press release. E sino pa ang magpapalabas ng ganito? SIGE NA NGA, SI BAYANI NA ANG MAY GAWA !.

4. Ganito ang takbo ng gimik na ito. Si Gloria Arroyo ang pinaka”hate” na presidente sa kasaysayan ng ating bansa. Pinatutunayan ng survey ratings ni Gibo na kahit manalo ka sa lahat ng debate, tatamaan ka rin ng galit ng publiko kapag ikaw ay nabasbasan ng tiwaling presidente. Ang nais gawin ng istorya ay madikit si Roxas kay Gloria sa pamamagitan ng paglarawan na si Garci at Roxas ay may pinagsamahan. Pareho rin umano ang hinihingi ni Mar at Gloria kay Garci- ang dagdagan ang boto nila. Clever! Ang kaibahan: si Mar Roxas ay walang dudang nanalo, si Gloria ay hindi hanggang nag-magic si Garci.

Nawala yata sa isip nila na bistado na ng tao kung sino ang tunay na kandidato ni Gloria ngayong 2010: si Loren Legarda at Manny Villar. Natural, hindi nila ito aaminin. Palalabasin na si Roxas ang malapit kay Gloria. Pero ang pera ay patuloy na dadaloy kay Loren at Manny. Abangan

Hindi malayong sa darating na mga araw ay magpapainterbyu si Garci at sasabihing nandaya siya para kay Mar Roxas. Kasama iyan sa script. Gusto niya iyan. Makakatulong sa kanyang amo ang siraan si Mar Roxas. Pilit itutulad sa Mar kay Gloria, na malayong-malayo naman sa katotohanan. Baka isang araw sabihin pa nila na si Mar Roxas at si GMA ay magkapatid!

Kung sa bagay, matagal nang napatunayan sa Senado at sa maraming pagkakataon: Sabi ng komite sa Senado, si Garci ay sinungaling. Sabi ng mahigit na 900 na ebidensya, si Villar ay nagsisinungaling. Si Gloria, matapos ang masusing imbestigasyon, nag “I am sorry” sa kanyang pagsisinungaling sa “Hello, Garci”. Pare-pareho sila.

Sa kampanya ni Loren, palagi niyang sinasabi na siya ay biktima ng paninira. Sila raw ay malinis. Kasinungalingan! Ito ang ebidensya. Iisa ang kanilang uri kaya sila ay magkakasamang kumokontra laban sa mga marangal at matuwid.

Kung sa bagay, sabi nung lasing “hindi ako lasheng!”

Kaya naman laganap ang usap-usapan kung ang pagpasok ni Loren Legarda, halal na senador ng bayan ay angkop sa kanyang posisyon. Hindi ito ipinagbabawal ng batas. Pero kung iisipin, ang pagpasok sa Bahay ni Kuya at ang pagsalaysay ng kanyang autobiography sa mga tulalang housemates ay may iisang pakay- ang makapagkampanya. Samakatuwid, ito ay malaking gimik lamang.

Kung sa bagay, kitang-kita ang pekeng-peke na dating niya. Mula sa pangaral niya na kumain ng malunggay at ampalaya (ito anya ang kanyang breakfast!), sa kanyang pagsita sa produkto ng mga sponsors (bakit ito ang kinakain niyo?), hanggang sa pag-usisa kung solar-powered ang bahay ni kuya, maliwanag na ipinipilit ang kanyang agenda. Hindi bale nang maburyong ang mga manonood.

Kung ang pagbabasehan ay ang reaksyon ng mga manonood sa live streaming, ito ay isang disaster. Lalo lang nainis ang mga tao sa kanya. Sa Eviction Night, nagtagumpay ang edited version na alisin ang mga nakaiiritang asal niya. Kung napanood mo ang live streaming, ibang-iba ang dating. Sa isang punto, winika niya: “hindi bale, ieedit naman ito”.

Kung sa bagay, ganyan talaga si Loren Legarda. Ang inilalarawan sa atin ay ang edited version ng kanyang pagkatao. May “cut”. Inedit ang tungkol sa mga karelasyon, kung paano talaga makitungo sa tao, at kung paanong mang-agaw ng eksena sa mga dinadaluhang events.

Sa kanya, ang lahat ay isang palabas! Siya ang bida, siya rin ang direktor. Ang wakas: maging pangulo sa 2016. Naunsyami dahil ang napusuan ng mga kapartido ay si Chiz Escudero!

Hindi pa malinaw kung ano ang aasikasuhin ng Senadora at ng Pangulo sa convention na pinararatangan ng mga demonstrador mula sa iba’t-ibang bansa na puro usapan lamang at walang aksyon na matatama mula sa meeting.

Naglipana ang mga mga “placard” na nangungutya sa mga opisyales ng mga bansang kasapi sa pulong.  May nagsasabing “Blah, Blah Blah no action.”  Meron din nagpapaalalang iisa lang ang planeta at walang “Planet B.”

Dahil nga mga taga-kongreso din ang kasama ni Senador Legarda, marami ang nagsasabing dadagdag lang siya sa walang katapusang usapan at debate at walang tunay na aksyon na mangyayari.  “Kung ganyan ay mistulang junket lang ang byahe at sa pagkikita nila ni Gloria baka pwede na natin siyang tawaging Euro-Senator,” paratang ng isang manggagawa patukoy sa mga Euro-Generals na nahuling nagpuslit ng salapi ng bayan.

But lo and behold, on December 4, 2009, the president issued Proclamation 1529 placing Maguindanao under Martial Law and suspending the privilege of habeas corpus.

This triggered a torrent of hostile reaction and a deluge of more conspiracy theory. Some totally absurd, others worth taking a second glance. Here are some of the more credible scenarios.

Testing the waters. The declaration martial law in Maguindanao is just a dry run, a practice of sorts for a future plan, more specifically the coming elections. If this is the case the government is probably taking tabs of the details to be polished the next time it uses this maneuver.

Pardon. The eminent constitutionalist Fr. Joaquin Bernas, SJ has expressed apprehensions on the declaration of martial law and its implication on the murder cases filed against the Ampatuans. According to him, the crime of murder can be absorbed in rebellion and the latter being a political crime is within the president’s pardoning power. Considering that the president is politically indebted to the Ampatuans, a pardon might be a good bargain.

Cover-up. During the 2007 Elections, Maguindanao produced a 12-0 result for the administration’s Team Unity. This spawned speculations of massive poll cheating. But no investigations were ever conducted, presumably because the entire province was under the iron grip of the Ampatuans. Now that the Ampatuans are gone or at least no longer in absolute control, evidence of the election cheating might surface. The government may be disposing of such evidence under the cloak of martial law. Just this morning, the military recovered another cache of ammunition and along with it are sacks of voter’s identification card. According to reports, several other items were recovered but not disclosed by the military.

Head count. Still, others contend that martial law is a test of loyalty. In the words of Presidential Adviser on Mindanao Affairs Jess Dureza, this is a “confidence building” strategy. Perhaps to get a headcount of local support in Maguindanao as well as in Congress and Supreme Court should the legality of the proclamation be assailed.

From the outset, circumstances have been favorable to the administration. The Supreme Court has inhibited from issuing a temporary restraining order. The Congress has set a precedent on the voting procedure in case of a joint session. It’s just a matter of time before things take a turn, hopefully not for the worse.

“Nakakalungkot yung nabasa ko sa dyaryo noong Martes.  Sabi ni Sen. Manny Villar na kung wala ka raw P1 billion, huwag mo ng ituloy ang balak mo bilang pangulo . . . Pera-pera na lang ba ang eleksyon? . . . Basta may pera pwera na ba ang lahat?”  These were some of the words of Senator Loren Legarda’s in a press release dated March 4, 2009 issued in response to Senator Manny Villar’s assertion that you need at least P1 billion to run a credible presidential campaign.

“Kapag ganito ang sistema wala na tayong pinagkaiba sa isang gang.  Kung sino ang may pera, siya ang magdidikta ng lahat . . . ito ay insulto sa taong bayan na pera lang daw ang katapat ng desisyon ng bawat Pilipino, ng kanilang karapatang pumili ng kanilang pinuno”, the press statement concluded.

It seems that money and the dictates of the one who wields it prevailed in the decision of Senator Legarda to accept the offer of Senator Villar for her to run as his running mate.  It is a coup for Villar as at least three men went after Legarda’s “yes” to join them in their ticket.  The vaunted machinery and “galing at talino” of the administration parties were not good enough for Legarda while her erstwhile partner Chiz Escudero high-tailed it and resigned from NPC.  Like in a courtship with many suitors, Legarda had to choose between the intelligent one, the glib and witty, and the “akala mo konyo” noveau-rich – the lady decided on wealth.

We cannot put all the blame on her.  She actually ran out of choices and thus had to compromise the values she publicly espouses.  Like a spinster she had to make the choice.  Albeit, it will be frightening to see what kind of compromises she will eventually make if and when she actually wins as Villar’s vice president and they begin to govern.

The team up is a de-facto merger of NP and NPC.  The width and breadth of this “merger” rival that of the Lakas-CMD-Kampi.  It is not clear if the arrangement will trickle down to the local level, although it is believed that it will cause more trouble for the two parties if it does as more candidates will jockey for limited positions.

It is conspicuous that they are making the announcement on the anniversary of Villar’s ouster in a place named after the Laurels, the family of Doy, Cory’s vice president.

Ewan lang natin. Siguro sa isip niya as sobra-sobra na ang angkin niyang talino kaya ok na rin na taga-showbiz na tulad ni Edu ang kuning bise. Hindi nakumbinse ng Lakas-Kampi si Vilma Santos kaya si Edu ang nilapitan. Mukhang si Ralph wala sa listahan pero kung susuriin ang takbo ng isip ng mga taga-Administrasyon ay kung hindi umubra kay Edu baka si Lucky (or Luis) ang susunod na kakausapin. Kaya lang, underage pa yata si Luis, pati ba birth certificate kayang dayain ni Ronnie Puno?

Kung “galing at talino” ang kontribusyon ni Gibo sa tandem, ano naman ang kay Edu? Alam ko na, siguro may mga naitabing DVD machines si Edu na kayang gumawa ng maraming kopya ng “campaign materials”. Bongga, matutuwa si Cong Nikki nyan at hindi cheap na recycled paper ang kanyang ipamumudmod, DVD yata.

Kaya mga kaibigan, pamantayan ba talaga natin ang “galing at talino’ng” pinagmamalaki ni Gibo? Sana, sinubukan niya munang manalo sa “Game ka na Ba?” at baka sakaling maniwala tayo.
